Dr. Fahad A. Dhawi is an Arabic typographer, information designer, and design educator. He is an assistant professor of graphic design at Box Hill College Kuwait and American International College. He holds a PhD degree from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, MA in graphic design (distinction) from Coventry University, and a BA in graphic design (cum laude) with a minor in communication from the American University of Kuwait. Dr. Dhawi’s practice-based research highlighted the importance of Arabic typography, bilingual design and graphic communication in language learning and how teaching Arabic can be further "simplified" through a creative visual pedagogy approach. His research reestablished the term "educational typefaces" with the aim to possibly open up future research on the role of design and typography - through the creation of educational typefaces - in visual pedagogy and interdisciplinary design.
