Jawaher Al Bader

Jawaher Al-BaderĀ is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Design at the College of Architecture at Kuwait University. She received her Ph.D. in Curriculum Instructions in Art and Design Education from Arizona State University under the mentorship of Professor Eric Margolis. Dr. Al-Bader also holds an MFA in Painting from Pratt Institute. Her MFA installation titled Suspended Enclosures explored the multidimensionality of spaces. Her undergraduate degrees include a BArch and BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her PhD was under the mentorship of Visual Sociologist Dr. Eric Margolis, and Anthropologist Dr. Joseph Tobin which as shaped her interested in Visual Ethnographic research. Prior to obtaining her PhD, Dr. Al-Bader worked Boston for Jung Brannen Architects and in Kuwait for SSH. Her architectural works include the two campuses in Kuwait, Fawzia Al Sultan International School and Bayan Bilingual School.
